Celebrating the top pharma marketers, communicators and salespeople
In December 2021, PharmaTimes welcomed the return of the live awards ceremony for the 2021 Marketer, Communications and Sales Awards at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel – bringing together these sectors for an evening of celebration within an industry that remains as important as ever.
Dr Sarah Jarvis did an exceptional job of hosting the celebrations and announcing who had claimed top spot in all the categories across the three competitions.
The finals days for each of the competitions were once again a completely virtual affair, with finalists presenting their innovative ideas in response to the brief via video link. The positive feedback received from the 2020 finals days ensured that 2021 was able to offer another dynamic and challenging contest for all candidates.
The finals days involved a huge number of entrants, judges, role players and observers moving around numerous virtual rooms and role play settings – keeping the entrants on their toes and ready for the next challenge.
For 2021, the Marketer of the Year competition again saw a great spread of industry-leading companies putting forward their brightest minds in a bid to claim a coveted pharma trophy – a testament to their hard work throughout the turbulent year.
The firms also showcased excellent teamwork in the Commercial Cross Functional Team of the Year, which saw AbbVie claim first prize in this prestigious award.
The Communications Awards continued a legacy of enticing teamwork in an on-the-day challenge, and further highlighted how they could exhibit superb communication and leadership skills virtually. Each year the competition partners with a charity for the Charity Challenge, with this year’s entrants responding to a brief created by The Meningitis Research Foundation to directly assist its worthwhile cause.
The Sales Awards, which saw finalists compete in a rigorous and highly respected challenge to evaluate their skills, also showcased some exceptional talent from a variety of companies.
Despite having no face-to-face interaction for the challenges, our finalists continue to surpass our expectations! The Executive Steering Committee has innovated and adapted incredibly well to create another hard-fought competition.
PharmaTimes would like to extend its thanks to the Executive Steering groups, judges and sponsors, without whom the competitions would not exist. Congratulations to all of our finalists and winners for 2021!
